This Privacy Policy explains how Maryanne (“we”, “our”, “us”) collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the Maryanne application and related services (collectively, the “Service”).

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account information

When you create an account or use the Service anonymously, we collect:

• Email address (only if you choose to sign up or link an account)
• Authentication tokens and session data
• Account creation and last-activity timestamps
• Email verification status

1.2 Content you create

Maryanne is a content application. The specific content you create, upload, or sync through the Service is stored on our servers and associated with your account. This may include text, files, preferences, and other user-generated content.

1.3 Subscription and payment data

If you purchase a paid plan, subscription and payment processing is handled by RevenueCat. We receive a subscription identifier, plan identifier, and expiration date. We do not collect or store your payment card details; those are handled exclusively by the App Store, Google Play, or RevenueCat.

1.4 Device and usage information

We automatically collect:

• IP address (used for security, rate limiting, and abuse prevention)
• Device model, operating system version, and platform
• App version and build number
• Crash reports and diagnostic data

1.5 Cookies and local storage

We use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand how you use the Service.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
• Authenticate you and protect your account
• Process subscriptions and prevent fraud
• Send you transactional emails (account verification, security alerts, important service announcements)
• Respond to your requests and provide customer support
• Detect, prevent, and address abuse, security incidents, and technical issues
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service

3. Third-Party Services

We share information only as necessary with the following categories of service providers:

• RevenueCat — subscription management and receipt validation (revenuecat.com/privacy)
• Apple App Store / Google Play — payment processing and in-app purchase delivery
• Email service provider — delivery of transactional emails (verification, security alerts)
• Hosting and infrastructure providers — secure data storage and application hosting

We do not sell your personal information to third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

4. Data Retention

• Account data: retained while your account is active. When you delete your account, we permanently delete your account record, authentication tokens, and user-generated content within 30 days, except as noted below.
• Subscription and billing records: retained for as long as required by tax, accounting, and anti-fraud regulations (typically 7–10 years depending on jurisdiction).
• Server logs (including IP addresses): retained for up to 90 days for security and debugging, then deleted.
• Backups: encrypted backups are retained for up to 30 days. Deleted accounts may persist in backup for up to 30 days before being overwritten.

5. Your Rights and Choices

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
• Delete your account and personal data — see Delete Account for instructions
• Export a copy of your data (contact us at the address below)
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

6. Children’s Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum digital consent age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

7. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence, including the United States and the European Economic Area. We rely on standard contractual clauses and equivalent safeguards to protect your information in transit.

8. Security

We use industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest, access controls, and regular security reviews. No system is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security of your information.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top. If the changes are material, we will provide additional notice (for example, an in-app notification or an email to your registered address). Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
